News: Tips for towing safely this summer

On average, seven people die, and 45 suffer serious injuries annually in New Zealand as a result of crashes involving a light vehicle towing a trailer, according to the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).

High among the leading causes of trailer related accidents are defective or poorly fitted towbars, overloading and poor weight distribution.

News: Electrifying festival like no other

thumbnail_image001-1Christchurch is set for an electrifying time this Sunday with the EVolocityFESTT (Festival of Engineering, Sustainability & Transportation Technologies).

The A&P showgrounds will host the event which will promote the huge advances made in electric vehicle (EV) technology, alongside stimulating interest and engagement in engineering.

A major part of the festival this year will be test rides and drives for the general public of a wide range of production electric cars from manufacturers including Tesla, Nissan, Renault, Mitsubishi and BMW. The company’s Let’s Get Lost ad, featuring its Tuscon SUV, won the show’s Best Ad Award this year after being given the title of Worst Ad in 2015.

A Jaguar not produced for nearly six decades will be back by 2017.

Only nine of the Jaguar XKSS will be made, it was revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show this week.

image69268_bMazda is bringing a new clean diesel version of its CX-5 SUV to the U.S. market which indicates that interest in such vehicles is on the rebound there says Diesel Technology Forum executive director Allen Schaeffer.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Mazda North America officially announced that it is introducing the clean diesel version CX-5 Skyactiv-D SUV to the U.S market in 2017.

News: First self-drive vehicle demonstration on NZ roads

The country’s first official demonstration of an autonomous vehicle using New Zealand roads is scheduled for Friday November 18.

The New Zealand Traffic Institute (Trafinz), Volvo, New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and the Ministry of Transport have come together to show how a self-driving vehicle will safely handle New Zealand’s road conditions.
