Fiat Chrysler New Zealand is ramping up it Ram brand’s presence with a national advertising and marketing campaign supporting its newly introduced Ram 2500 and 3500 Trucks into 13 dealerships nationally.
“We deliberately launched the Ram Trucks softly, starting with a preview at Fieldays, so that we could put everything in place to ensure that wherever one may roam in New Zealand, it will have the full support it deserves,” says Ateco Group New Zealand and Fiat Chrysler New Zealand chief executive officer David Smitherman.
“However, we sold the first vehicle within minutes of the gates opening at Fieldays. There has been a steady stream of enquiries as word has spread about the advent of the Ram 2500 and 3500 and the work that has gone into making them available here,” says Smitherman. Of late 3D printed cars have been stealing the limelight of every list of 3D printing breakthroughs, with Arizona-based Local Motors and its world’s first road-ready 3D printed car pioneering the way according to 3D Printing Applications’ article ‘Kabuku and Honda realise first 3D printed car for confectionary delivery service’. Many other pre-eminent car manufacturers are also experimenting with 3D printers, especially as prototyping tools.

Turners Group has cited lower petrol prices and the popularity of SUVs as a reason for the growing shift toward two to three-litre used cars.
This information is contained in the secondhand vehicle retailer’s September 2016 Used Car Market Report out today.
The report shows that Turner’s biggest seller in September was the ever popular Holden Commodore, followed closely by Toyota’s Corolla and Hilux duo. Kia has seen the value of its global brand rise by 12% over the past year on the back of quality advancements and continued sales success.
According to Interbrand’s list of the 100 ‘Best Global Brands’, Kia has climbed five places to become the 69th most valuable brand in the world.

Tesla has confirmed work to bring the brand to New Zealand is officially underway — with a ‘store’ and service centre due to open in the second quarter of 2017.
But the brand will go on sale here in a matter of months — with orders being taken from November, and a spokesperson confirming to Auto Media Group that a pop-up store will likely appear this year for test drives.

A panel of members of the New Zealand Motoring Writers Guild (NZMWG) joined by New Zealand Automobile Association staff has decided the top ten finalists for the New Zealand Car of the Year.
The top 10 finalists are Holden Spark, Honda Civic, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-9, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Skoda Superb, Subaru Levorg, Suzuki Vitara and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Colorado Place, Avondale resident Frank Hanly had the birthday to remember on October 5 when receiving the present of a lifetime, the use of a brand new Holden Colorado LTZ double cab for 12 months.
The use of the vehicle for 12 months was the main prize in the Colorado Place ‘Welcome to New Zealand’ event; a street party staged by Holden alongside residents to celebrate the arrival of the new model in New Zealand.

Hyundai New Zealand is facilitating one aspiring Kiwi rally driver to get a big boost to their career.
This is the result of Paddon and Hyundai New Zealand collaborating to create the Hyundai NZ Young Driver Shootout and Scholarship.
The winner will be afforded the opportunity to drive the Hyundai NZ AP4 i20 rally car in two rounds of the 2017 New Zealand Rally Championship. The car will be operated and run by Paddon Rallysport, including testing and training with Paddon, as well as the potential for an expanded programme in 2018.
